PREFERENSI MASYARAKAT PESISIR TERHADAP PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH DI DESA REBO KABUPATEN BANGKA

Abstrak

The sensitivity of coastal communities to carry out waste management can create environmental sustainability. The research objective is to determine the preferences of coastal communities in waste management. The study was conducted in July to August 2019 using the simple random sampling method in Rebo Village, Bangka Regency, geographical location at 02o5300S and 107o0100E . The results show that the preferences of coastal communities towards waste management in Rebo Village, Bangka Regency are influenced by people's behavior, knowledge, and the availability of facilities owned, respectively by 93.3%; 72.5%; and 65.0%. The waste management program can run continuously if it is supported by the behavior of disposing garbage in its place, willingness to collect scattered garbage, and efforts to remind others to dispose of garbage in its place. The importance of community knowledge about waste, impacts and management through reduce, reuse and recycle. Furthermore, the presence of facilities such as coastal tourism areas that provide separate bins or sorting between organic, inorganic, and wet waste. Coastal communities tend to be sensitive to follow good waste management by instilling waste disposal behavior in its place, there is education on waste knowledge, and support of facilities at coastal tourism sites so as to create environmental sustainability.
