PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH HASIL PERIKANAN SEBAGAI PRODUK BERNILAI TAMBAH BAGI MASYARAKAT DI KECAMATAN BELINYU, KABUPATEN BANGKA

Abstrak

Based on its geographical conditions, which are mostly bordered by the sea, Belinyu District has high fisheries potential for fisheries center. Furthermore, Belinyu is also a center for fishery product processing such as otak-otak, kemplang and empek-empek. However, with so many fisheries product processing activities, also produced a lot of waste. Waste generated from fisheries product processing activities in the form of skin, head, and bones. It will be better if the fisheries waste (head and bonefish) by fisherman and the community to be used as a value-added product. The science and technology program (IbM) of Bangka Belitung University has the main activities which involve increasing public understanding of the fisheries waste benefit that could be processed into a value-added product; community empowerment by training the utilization of fisheries waste into useful products such as flour and snack (from head and bonefish) and economic improvement of fisheries waste products. In addition, this program also received full support from the UMKM Service of Bangka Regency and could encourage the UMKM Community on developing fisheries waste utilization.
